Q. How bad does it hurt to get a tattoo?
A. Everyone has their own individual threshold for pain and/or discomfort. We have found that women generally have higher thresholds than men do. Placement on the body is a big factor, as is size of the tattoo, and the length of time it will take. The tattoo will be applied in the third layer of the epidermis, which is equal to a dimes depth on it's edge. A good analogy of what it might feel like is "A cat scratch on a sunburn".
Q. Do I have to have a party in order for you to come to me?
A. No. We are happy to come to you. It generally works best to meet with us to decide on your tattoo, so that we can bring only what is necessary for your appointment. There is no charge for the consult, but we may collect a deposit for your appointment. We can also go over our sterilization procedures with you.
Q. How old do you have to be?
A. Arizona State Law requires that anyone under the age of 18 be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, with proof thereof. Our policy requires matching state issued ID's.
Q. Can I bring my own design?
A. Although we have thousands of images to choose from, you are more than welcome to bring your own design, or even have us design something custom for you. If you use your design, all materials will be returned to you, ensuring that we do not use it on someone else.
Q. How long will it take for my tattoo or piercing to heal?
A. Each person's body chemistry is different. People following the exact same aftercare instructions, could in effect, have completely different heal times. Tattoo's will generally take 21 days to heal. Should a touch-up be required, we will schedule you for at least 30 days after your initial appointment. Touch-ups are performed free of charge thirty to sixty days from your initial appointment, provided all aftercare instructions are followed. Below is a list for piercing healing times that we found in Consultant Magazine, a Cliggott publication.
